Role Overview:

Our dynamic AI Squad, composed of Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Application Developers, delivers cutting-edge AI solutions. We are seeking a talented Senior AI Cloud Engineer to further strengthen our DevOps and Cloud Architecture capabilities. In this role, you will be instrumental in the deployment, automation, and integration of the end-to-end machine learning and generative AI applications developed by the squad. You will leverage your deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) architecture, DevOps practices, backend engineering, and Python development to ensure our solutions are robust, scalable, and efficiently deployed into customer environments. 

This position requires the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, navigate shifting priorities, and provide expert-level cloud problem-solving support to our Managed Service Provider (MSP) business. There are no on-call expectations for this position.

What You'll Do:

• Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable code for infrastructure automation.
• Champion and implement DevOps principles, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and alerting, specifically for AI application deployment and management.
• Architect solutions addressing complex networking (VPC, interconnectivity, DNS), security (identity, access control, firewalls), and application integration challenges within enterprise environments, focusing on the deployment context.
• Provide deep technical support and problem-solving for cloud infrastructure requests escalated from our Managed Services business.
• Occasionally take part in backend service development using Python.
• Dedicate half of your time to cloud architecture support and consulting within our Managed Services Business.
• Collaborate effectively with data scientists, software engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders within a global team structure.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in GCP, DevOps especially concerning deployment and operation of ML/AI workloads.
• Handle multiple projects concurrently, managing timelines and adapting to evolving requirements.

What You'll Need:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering roles, with significant hands-on experience in cloud environments.
• Deep understanding and practical experience architecting and managing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including core infrastructure (GKE and serverless solutions), networking (VPC, Load Balancing, Cloud DNS), storage (Cloud Storage, Firestore), and security services (IAM, Secret Manager).
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform.
• Solid experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/GKE).
• Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Cloud Build).
• Strong backend engineering skills and understanding of microservice architectures.
• Strong proficiency and proven experience in Python development, particularly for backend services.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English, enabling effective collaboration within a distributed, global team.
• A learning attitude and a passion for sharing knowledge.

Nice to Haves:

• Professional Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Cloud Architect, DevOps Engineer).
• Experience supporting Managed Services and Support operations.
• Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with Machine Learning concepts and MLOps practices.
• Experience with Generative AI, including fine-tuning LLMs, RAG techniques, and vector databases.
