As we continue to expand globally, we are looking for a Chief Delivery Officer (CDO) to lead our engineering operations and ensure the excellence of our project delivery. The CDO will lead the transformation of Aliz’s delivery model from purely service-based to solution-driven and with the ability to scale to meet our ambitious growth plans

The Chief Delivery Officer's primary responsibility is to ensure that all project deliveries meet the highest standards of quality and achieve outstanding customer satisfaction. The CDO will oversee the global operations of our engineering organisation, with a strong emphasis on delivering market-leading data and AI solutions, based on Google Cloud. This role involves working closely with various departments to introduce and enhance engineering practices, monitor key processes, and develop our engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Global Engineering Operations: Manage the engineering organisation across multiple locations, from Munich through Budapest to Jakarta with modern and efficient processes to optimise gross margin
• Project Quality and Customer Satisfaction: Ensure high-quality project delivery measured by customer satisfaction and strive for high customer NPS, especially in data and AI solutions.
• Lifecycle Management: Ensure a smooth transition from presales phase through project delivery to post-project lifecycle, including MSP and support. You will promote a culture of ‘yes’, providing a positive energy to win and support sales.
• Engineering Practices: Collaborate with technical practice leaders to cover the ‘people’ side for engineers, introduce cross-engineering initiatives, and enhance engineering practices with supporting functions.
• Seniority Mix: Monitor and adjust the seniority mix within engineering teams.
• Well-Being and Development: Monitor the well-being of engineers, develop their skills, and create clear learning and career paths.
• Culture Branding: Promote and brand our company culture externally.

Required Traits and Skills

• Quick Decision-Making: Ability to make quick, effective decisions based on limited set of information.
• Leadership: Ability to balance multiple responsibilities and delegate effectively.
• Hands-On: Capable of taking a hands-on approach initially, then delegating tasks appropriately.
• Collaboration: Strong ability to work with various teams and departments.
• Soft Skills: No requirement for a hard technical skillset but must possess excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Commercial Acumen: Ability to define billable salary ranges and manage the division of non-billable hours (recruitment vs. presales vs. tech investment).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in leading a global engineering team, ideally in the ‘Cloud’ space
• Proven track record of improving project delivery efficiency and quality
• Experience with lifecycle management, including MSP and support.
• Ability to monitor and develop key engineering processes and practices.
