We are looking for a meticulous and motivated Database Migration Specialist to join our Big Data team in Budapest. This role focuses on data migration tasks with an emphasis on SQL-based transformations, ensuring high data quality and adherence to business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding Client Requirements:
    • Gather and interpret client requirements with a focus on business context.
    • Clarify and refine ambiguous requirements by asking meaningful questions.
  • Implementing SQL Transformations:
    • Execute data transformations using SQL, adhering to provided specifications.
    • Handle large SQL queries involving a large number of connecting tables
  • Manual Data Verification: Conduct thorough manual validation of migrated data to ensure accuracy.
  • Documentation: Document all transformations, processes, and validations performed.
  • Legacy System Understanding: Understand and navigate legacy systems such as Oracle SQL and SAP tools.
  • Automation Detection: Identify potential areas for automation in the migration process.

About You:

  • SQL Knowledge: Proficiency in writing and understanding SQL queries, including complex joins, minimum 3 years working experience.
  • Excel Expertise: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, documentation and validation.
  • Script Reading: Ability to read and comprehend script code for understanding legacy transformations.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision and thoroughness in executing repetitive tasks and data validation.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.

Nice to Have:

  • Basic knowledge of coding and scripting for potential task automation.
  • Experience in manual data testing and validation.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly Google Cloud, is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working with Oracle, SAP, and other legacy technologies.
